Rothko
I've always inspired
encouraged and warned.
I've influenced culture
and formed my own.
Happiness, you say?
No, not really.
My canvas reflects
how life in my mind’s eye
should have been.
“I have no regrets”
so the song goes
- well I guess in part
that’s true.
But with summer gone,
Autumn fast fading
and soon Winter upon me,
I'm preparing for the wind down.
I bequeath my skills
to all those
who want to learn,
to strike boldly,
to capture
the underlying currents
of real life.
That is what it’s all about.
Don't expect perfection.
Don't expect an easy life.
Don't capitulate either.
Hone your skills,
unleash your hidden talents
to a gaping world,
and encapture just
a wisp of my spirit
and be enraptured!

At Stephen Collett’s Studio 10.15am in the summer 2009, upon seeing Stephen’s Portrait of the celebrated International Artist, Mark Rothko, born Marcus Rothkowitz.
First exhibited at the Liverpool Academy for Arts Stephen Collett Exhibition in July 2009 and then published by Spiderwize in Meanderings, An Anthology of Poetry and Prose Volume 2 (October 2011)
I most certainly recommend visiting Stephen’s website link below.
