No such place, of course,
but, hey ho,
human nature never changes
A Decade Ago
How dare the man
to have affront
to ask for payment from me
His invoice!
A woman hater
A character assassinator
A man to be reviled
A man who hates
Oh dear!
Lucifer’s throwing teddy
out the pram again
Striding the heavens
with the clomp
of a booted Irma Grese[1]
All men are evil
Because all men hate women
Goodness knows where the
lady gets that idea …
It’s Sunday afternoon of course …
Never good for unhappy souls
Jezebel and Potiphar’s wife
All rolled into one
Mrs Pilate’s calm reasoning
her hapless husband
regretting
Forget the payment
Cut the link
But remind the lady
not to pocket the money
Instead let someone
in the street derive its benefit.
The Five Pound Note is little
to you or me
To others the difference
between bed for a night and shelter
or having only frost to blanket under
The difference
between life clinging on to daylight
or death stalking
in the night watches
and snatching …
Another tirade followed
Apparently, how dare I suggest charity …
Did I not know that the lady
was the most charitable soul on earth?
No I didn’t …
Well you should!
Glad you’re not a child-minder, dear.
This nursery looks like a tempest
has swept through it …

Ken Webb is a writer and proofreader.
