Religion and Faith ~ By No Means One and the Same (Revised Edition)
A Thousand Dimensions
Volume 1 2022
Yet, I fully accept the right to practice religion. I have my faith. My faith and belief in a super Intelligence beyond our wildest imagination, and as unfathomable now as it always has been, and will be, even 10 million years from now. Occasionally I pray, but I am not a person who wishes to pray at given times of the day.
The day was made for me, not me for the day.
I am eternally aware of the Presence of the Almighty and in certain cases I will pray. But it is best, and most eloquently stated, by a truly great and humble person:
I am not religious, but there have been times when I have felt the need to turn to a higher being.
It's like tuning a radio – without warning,
I suddenly need to change the frequency of the waveband that I am on
to the waveband that allows me to talk to God.
It is hard to describe;
it's as if moments of acute intensity
propel me
to a different level of consciousness.
This was one of them.[i]

[1] Dr David Nott was performing very serious surgery in theatre in Aleppo. "Just as I was about to suture the pulmonary vein, the doors of the operating theatre burst open. I looked up to my right and could not believe my eyes as I saw six fully armed men wearing black combat fatigues and headscarves storm into the room. They were obviously Isis fighters, and the patient on the table was one of them.” pp221-224 War Doctor - Surgery on the Front Line by Doctor David Nott published by Picador 2019
Ken Webb is a writer and proofreader. His website, kennwebb.com, showcases his work as a writer, blogger and podcaster, resting on his successive careers as a police officer, progressing to a junior lawyer in succession and trusts as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, a retired officer with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, and latterly, for three years, the owner and editor of two lifestyle magazines in Liverpool.
He also just handed over a successful two year chairmanship in Gloucestershire with Cheltenham Regency Probus.
Pandemic aside, he spends his time equally between his city, Liverpool, and the county of his birth, Gloucestershire.
In this fast-paced present age, proof-reading is essential. And this skill also occasionally leads to copy-editing writers’ manuscripts for submission to publishers and also student and post graduate dissertations.
