I
IN Ukraine Dispatch 3, I wrote that 24 February 2022, would be marked in history as the opening gambit of World War III. Many people have, both on February 24 and on every day of this war of aggression and subjugation, written similarly, or stated so, in TV interviews. I say from within the innermost recesses that I hope we are all disproved.
I’m not into superstition, and the ‘supernatural’ needs to show itself in a very basic form to cause me to even think that it is a real phenomenon. Coincidence can, of course, quickly give way to synchronicity. A friend forwarded an example of Numerology by e-mail this afternoon. I cannot confirm whether it is verified, the dates are correct.
What is Numerology?
An internet search defines Numerology as the pseudoscientific belief in a divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. It is also the study of the numerical value of the letters in words, names, and ideas. It is often associated with the paranormal, alongside astrology and is similar to divinatory arts.
As I say, I need much more evidence than this to persuade me. Who was it that said that oh-so-brief line?
Why the Quote?
This …
Another friend forwarded the banner image to me late this afternoon via Wattsapp. I cannot confirm whether it is verified.
The message accompanying it reads:

I can imagine the Russian Ambassador’s apoplexy.
Both images reveal the thinking of the wider world of Putin’s War. Thinking devoid of the Russian People.
Our minds focus afresh upon the all-too-common atrocities committed by Russian forces and their mercenaries when we recall their track record in the two Chechnyan Wars, Grozny, their disgraceful behaviour in Georgia, their complete destruction of Aleppo and Houla and the Free Syrian People, their proxy war against Ukraine in 2014-2015 and which has claimed the lives of 14,000 Ukrainians up until 23 February 2022.
What Putin is doing to Ukraine he did in Syria. The man is about recreating his Soviet era, and this man will not stop at Ukraine’s far western border.
He used the Syrian People and their cities to perfect his dystopian technique.
Adolf Hitler used Franco’s fascist revolution in Spain to enable his Luftwaffe to perfect their dystopian carpet bombing technique in 1936-1937 and which he then used against Poland, Europe, the United Kingdom oh, and yes, the former Soviet Union with whom he’d entered into a cynical Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact signed in Moscow on August 23, 1939.
That gives us a very telling comment on Russian psyche. That pact cleared the deck for Hitler to invade Poland on 1 September 1939, and in a secret part of that Pact, for the Soviet Union to send its forces in to Eastern Poland within days, join up with their Nazi allies, and split Poland between themselves.
I will not go in to the atrocities committed by both countries against Poland. Eighty-three years on, that is simply too short a brush stroke to erase the horror and trauma of what those two evil empires did in Poland.
III
Putin, like Hitler, is an uncultured, vulgar little man.
The real protagonists in this, are the Russian People, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
They are led like a bull with a ring through its nose. Their crime? That they are willingly led and, moreover, believe the lies, turning their backs upon the thousands of their own citizens who have, in the last seventeen days of the War in Ukraine waged by Russia, merely protested peacefully, but who have all been arrested and carted off.
Russia is a police state.
Russia is a totalitarian state.
The worst excesses of the former KGB have transferred to its beneficiary, the FSB.
Putin and his cronies in the Kremlin are exactly like Hitler and his gang in the Reichstag.
The glue that congeals about them all in the Kremlin? They are all former KGB. Despised, hated. The equivalent of the Nazi Gestapo. History documents in detail the full excesses of the former KGB in Soviet Russia during the Cold War until that hapless empire imploded.
IV
Let the world serve notice upon Russia.
You are out in the cold.
You are a Pariah State.
You are no better than ISIS.
There you will stay for a very long time
Why?
Because, bluntly, the wider world cannot trust you. We have never been able to trust you.
Your president is an inveterate liar, just as Hitler was an inveterate liar, just as Stalin was an inveterate liar. Putin merely reflects the collective character of Greater Russia.
V
The world once had sympathy for the plight of Russia.
But as the rooks come home to roost, we see Russia’s despicable behaviour over the last thirty years. Russia has no understanding, nor even comprehension, of democracy and freedom. The minority who do are carted off.
Just as the children of violent households witness their mothers being beaten by their fathers yet go on themselves to marry the very people who will in turn beat them, Russians find it impossible to extricate themselves from autocracy.
Love of democracy and personal freedom, a life in which the role of the state is subordinate to personal freedom, seems not to be in the Russian makeup. Russia, and Russians, have nothing to offer the world by way of peace, harmony, freedom and security.
That is the lot of every Russian. They created it. So they can live in it. But they cannot have their cake and eat it. And they will not bring it to bear upon free, democratic and peaceful peoples.
Simply put, Russia collectively, and Russians individually, we do not want you. We no longer even respect you regardless of what you went through in your Great Patriotic War.
VI
That vulgar little man in the Kremlin, whom one Russian respondent last weekend declared to her sister in Ukraine by text message “… you are wrong. Putin is a god. You are being bombed by the neo-Nazis and drug addicts you’ve allowed yourself to listen to.” Then came the terrifying final line by text message … “you are no longer my sister. I disown you.”
