Migration

Written through the mindset of the Bird

and with a

metaphysical after-thought

Upon Wing do I mount.

To the breeding grounds

must I return

the long flight south.

Some will fall away.

Some will be clutched from the sky

by shot and ball.

Our formation remains

in elongated unequal V.

Each will move to Arrowhead,

Tiring will fly in-stream

Younger ones …

Older will Slip-stream for them.

With this departure

note well

It draws a line in the sand

that confirms

We Will Return.

It is Certain …

It is Preordained …

It Cannot be otherwise …

Except that Humankind

has brought about Climate Change …

within the next ten years … this catastrophe wrought

by Humankind becomes irreversible

And thus

would we hitherto have conveyed

Reassurance to Humankind

from on High

Act Now

Your silly religions will not help you

upon seeing a photograph sent by a friend
and, unbeknown, encouragement by a friend
when taking an incoming hands-free call on the M6

This is how writing occurs

Never any plan

It rests upon one simple premise

Seize the moment ~ capture that all too easily missed elusive thought

So steht es geschrieben

Niemals irgendein Plan

Es basiert auf einer einfachen Bedingung

Ergreifen Sie den Moment - fangen Sie diese schwer fassbare Idee

Ken Webb is a writer and proofreader. His website, kennwebb.com, showcases his work as a writer, blogger and podcaster, resting on his successive careers as a police officer, progressing to a junior lawyer in succession and trusts as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, a retired officer with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, and latterly, for three years, the owner and editor of two lifestyle magazines in Liverpool.

He also just handed over a successful two year chairmanship in Gloucestershire with Cheltenham Regency Probus.

Pandemic aside, he spends his time equally between his city, Liverpool, and the county of his birth, Gloucestershire.

In this fast-paced present age, proof-reading is essential. And this skill also occasionally leads to copy-editing writers’ manuscripts for submission to publishers and also student and post graduate dissertations.
